WHAT IS SCRIP?

Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers.They are the same gift certificates that you buy at the store.Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including JC Penney, Kohl’s, Younkers, Sears, Outback, Olive Garden, Shell, Casey’s and many, many others.

HOW DOES THIS PROGRAM HELP US RAISE MONEY?

Participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our church at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our church keeps the difference as revenue. Scrip is exciting, because everybody wins:

The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business...
You get a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling...
Our church gets a regular source of revenue.

HOW DO YOU BENEFIT?

The percentage of earnings is different for every retailer and is indicated on the order form. Immaculate Conception receives this money and it is distributed in this way:

50% is credited to your child’s tuition for the following school year
50% goes to pay for the new Education Center.

The program runs on a cycle from June 1st through May 31^st, and your tuition credit is applied to the following school year.

EXAMPLE: If your family uses $100 of Scrip each week for things like prescriptions, school supplies, etc., the parish would receive approximately $364.00 - $182.00 of this would be applied to your child’s tuition for the following year, and $182.00 would go towards the debt on the new Education Center.

HOW DO YOU PARTICIPATE:

Scrip is sold at the Parish Office during regular office hours, Monday through Friday. Volunteers are also here Saturday from 9-11:00 a.m. You do not have to be a member of Immaculate Conception Parish to participate. Just stop in and register.

There are more Retailers available through the Great Lakes SCRIP Center. If you would like to purchase SCRIP from these vendors, either call the Parish Offices or stop by during SCRIP sales hours to order. It will only take a couple of days to get your SCRIP in from these Retailers. They have a 6 page PDF file on their website that lists all of the vendors available. Below is a link to that website. The list can be found under "Retailer List" and is available either alphabetically or by category.
